It’s all connected in those complicated nightmare that you wove.
One of the best albums of last year was the little-heralded, but gorgeously ambient In The Attic of the Universe from The Antlers (aka 22-year old prodigious New York musican Peter Silberman). I rate the entire album highly, but there is something particularly special about The Universe Is Going to Catch You. Be sure to hear it!
Peter is currently working on a new album (sweet!), but has generously just made a special three-song EP available on his site to download for free! The first and third songs are slow, melancholic covers of Magnetic Fields and Yo La Tengo songs respectively, with the one in the middle being a new song and a teaser for Peter’s forthcoming album Hospice. I find it moody, quiet, and poignant – perfect for the lonely early hours of the morning!
You can follow Peter’s progress with the making of Hospice on his blog, which can be found right about… here!
EP Track Listing:
1. Nothing Matters When We’re Dancing
2. Sylvia
3. Tears Are In Your Eyes
